Dr. Anthony Duplanty is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology in the College of Public Affairs & Health Science at the University of North Texas and a researcher in the Applied Physiology Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas and completed an NIAAA T32-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms regulating skeletal muscle adaptation to exercise and metabolic stress, with particular interest in endocrine signaling, mitochondrial function, and muscle growth/atrophy.
Dr. Duplanty’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms that regulate skeletal muscle adaptation to exercise and metabolic stress. His work integrates mechanistic cell culture models with translational human exercise studies to examine how endocrine signaling, mitochondrial regulation, and myogenic pathways influence muscle growth, metabolism, and health. Ultimately, his laboratory seeks to translate molecular findings into more individualized, evidence-based exercise prescriptions for healthy and clinical populations.
